Cashless Catering

Our Cashless Catering System will be launched on Tuesday 6 September 2011, for new Year 7 students and prefects who are attending College and will be available for all students from Wednesday 7 September 2011. From this date our catering service will be totally cash free. Each student will be issued with a personalised smart-card by post during the Summer break, free of charge, which will be used to purchase food from the canteen at break and lunchtime. Students will be given information about the system in forthcoming assemblies.

Parents will be able to credit their childs account in one of three ways:

a.    ParentPay ParentPay offers parents the freedom to top-up their childs     account at any time, quickly and easily, with a debit or credit card. All parents will have a secure online account which is accessed with a unique user ID     and password. An electronic record of the payments can be viewed online at any time.

b.    PayPoint at local stores For parents who prefer to continue using cash they can top up their childs account in local PayPoint stores. Those parents choosing the PayPoint method can apply, via the attached slip, to receive a payment card through the post. Payments made by this method can also be viewed online by logging onto ParentPay. Please note, payments made by PayPoint may take up to two days to be credited to your childs account.

c.    Cheque Payments We hope that most parents will credit their childs accounts via ParentPay or PayPoint as in a. or b. above. However, there will be a facility for parents who prefer to pay by cheque and give this into the College for crediting their childs account. This method of payment will not credit an account immediately, but cheques will be credited to the account ready for the following day. If you wish to pay by this method for the start of the new term, cheques will be accepted, via the College reception, during the Summer break between the times mentioned.

For students who are entitled to free school meals, their daily meal allowance will be automatically added to their catering account card. Parents of those students who wish to add to this amount can also top up the account by using any of the above methods.

A Frequently Asked Questions sheet is enclosed containing further information and benefits for students, parents and staff. As previously mentioned, we also enclose an application form for a PayPoint card. You can also indicate on this form, if you wish to amend your childs daily spend limit.

Parents will be able to contact the College during the Summer break if there are any queries with the cashless system. The College office and switchboard will be open from 9.00 am until 3.00 pm, Monday to Friday.
