Lidl’s store grand opening!
Shoppers will soon have another supermarket on their doorstep. Lidl is opening a store in Rayne Road, Braintree, today! It will employ 25 to 30 people, who are mostly local, and will stock the German supermarket's full range of products, including non-food items.
A spokesman said: "We are looking forward to the opening of our new Lidl store. Our nearest store is in Chelmsford, and Braintree is currently not served by a discount food store, therefore we feel that our new store will provide a different offering and increase customer choice." They said there were no specific plans to build stores elsewhere in the district, but the company is always looking for further opportunities.
